Hi, I'm Karlene.

I’m a photographer based in sunny Townsville, North Queensland— a mother, partner, dog mum, horse mum, creative crafter, lover of sunsets and nature, and most of all, a storyteller. 

Photography has been my passion for as long as I can remember. From the moment I picked up a camera in high school, capturing the world around me just felt right. I was always the one at gatherings, snapping photos of family, friends, my horses, and my dogs—freezing memories in time. That love only grew stronger, leading me to complete my Diploma of Photography and Digital Imaging, continuously refine my skills, and even enter occasional competitions. I’m also an active member of a camera group and attend the Photography Society of Queensland Convention each year, always learning, growing, and expanding my craft. 

While I have a background in hairdressing and makeup artistry, photography is where my heart truly belongs. It’s more than just taking photos—it’s about making real connections. I love working with people, witnessing their joy, and capturing the raw, unfiltered emotions that make each person and relationship unique. Whether it’s the bond between people and their pets, the love shared between families, or the magic of a couple’s special day, my goal is to create images that tell a story—your story. 

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me starting my mornings with a cup of coffee, indulging in caramel tart (my absolute favorite!), or spending a week in the Atherton Tablelands—a place close to my heart that my partner and I visit every year. Traveling, exploring, and appreciating the little moments in life all fuel my creativity. 

Through my lens, I see a world filled with beauty, connection, and emotion. This life we have is extraordinary, and every moment—big or small—deserves to be remembered. I would be truly honored to capture yours.
